Olly’s passion for visual storytelling and the arts began at a young age, which led him to study theatre, film, and television at the University of York. After gaining experience in theatre, Olly transitioned to film and TV, where he found greater satisfaction in the pace, collaboration, and learning opportunities as a camera trainee, before later specialising in video. For Olly, the unique role of playback is one of the few on set that allows him to see the director’s vision unfold in real time. Always on hand as a safety net, this position plays a crucial part in improving the efficiency of any shooting day.

Olly’s recent work includes Pressure (Working Title/StudioCanal), All of You (Apple Original Films), The Radleys (Sky), and This Town (BBC/Kudos).

With a strong work ethic, a meticulous eye for detail, and the ability to think on his feet, Olly consistently strives to build lasting relationships across departments. He brings a positive mindset and a friendly approach to the daily challenges of set life.
