Maddy Taibo-Smith Trainee

Maddy’s passion for film started at a young age from watching behind the scenes DVD extras, where she dreamt of being amongst those crews creating cinema classics. This inspired her to pursue a bachelor's degree in film, where she became interested in the camera department.

Through working as a camera trainee, she gained a place at the National Film and Television school to study camera assisting, which led to collaborating on many short films, commercials and music videos. In 2024 Maddy got the opportunity to join the first cohort of the Disney Crew Academy, where in 2025 she landed her first job as a video trainee on one of Disney’s upcoming projects. Through this, Maddy realised how much she enjoyed working in the video department and wants to gain more experience as a video trainee on future productions. Maddy is excited to continue to gain experience working with Digital Orchard!
