Nick’s interest in film was triggered by Alex Cox’ s Moviedrome. Discovering Stanley Kubrik lived up the road piqued his interest even more. To escape a future in estate agency, he relocated to Canada and, after investigating most departments, quickly recognised that video assist was a natural fit for him.
Nick soon became known as the go-to guy in Toronto’s vast commercial production industry. Nick was the standard-setter, the benchmark that others aimed for. His keen eye for details and ability to anticipate needs made him favourite among directors and producers.
He’s agile and responsive, adaptable to rapidly changing situations. He’s a true video geek, always exploring the capabilities of the technology he’s using, and was at the forefront of the digital revolution in Canada. Nick is highly proficient with system capabilities and new technology, and can quickly pull up reference shots, adapt screen dimensions and overlays, and build speculative edits for directors on the spot. His physical fitness, helpful demeanour and team-minded attitude make him an asset on any production.
