With 20 years of film experience, Katherine is now concentrating on the role of Data Manager. Organised and social, Kat loves being part of the camera department’s technical action.  

Kat is hyper-vigilant and takes the responsibility of Managing the Data seriously.  She is adept at assisting the DIT, DOP other members of the camera team while liaising with production and post-production to ensure a smooth transition of data.

Katherine started her film career in 2001 as a London-based Photography Studio Manager.  Upon returning to her native Cape Town in 2002, she joined Scarab industries at its inception.  As Operations Manager, she grew the company into South Africa’s top, boutique video, DIT and drone provider.  Under Katherine’s management, Scarab serviced thousands of TVCs, music videos, films, long-form and other productions from all over the world.  Katherine also produced Scarab’s own productions. In her 18 years at Scarab, Kat acquired an all-round knowledge of film making, including the day-to-day running of a business, taking care of every detail to ensure a creative environment on-set, technical expertise, client relations and set experience.

In 2020 Kat returned to London permanently and joined the Orchard family, first as their Bookings Manager and now as an on-set Data Manager.

Katherine started her journey in London as a Photography Studio Manager 2001, before moving back to Cape Town in 2002. Here she joined Scarab industries at its inception as its Operations Manager. Helping build Scarab into one of SA’s top boutique video & DIT & drone businesses servicing thousands of TVC’s, music video, films, long form and other productions from all over the world over the 18 years she was there. Katherine also produced Scarab’s own productions. She has an all round knowledge about the film making process from start to finish including the day to running of a business, giving production and films makers what they need, technical expertise and set experience..

Arriving back in London in 2020 Kat joined the Orchard family as their Bookings Manager. With Digital Orchard’s strong representation and support of women and the LQBTQI community in film on such exciting projects Kat she saw that she could concentrate on working on set as technician as her preference.
