Jeremy Balderstone Digital Imaging Technician

After studying Film Production at University, Jeremy was driven to pursue a career centred around film and began working in Post Production. With a background in Post and experience with different workflows, Jeremy began exploring onset roles, gaining experience in the locations department before focusing his attention on Data Management and the aspects of being a DIT. For many years Jeremy has worked as a DIT/ Data Manager working on commercials, music videos, promos and documentaries. Jeremy has also worked on a number of features and dramas, including historical British War Film ‘The War Below’, British Horror feature ‘The Shepherd’ and most recently ‘This England’ a political TV mini-series for Sky Atlantic.

In the past Jeremy’s role as a DIT has been based on/ near-set in a studio or vehicle where he will data manage, do necessary transcodes and ready the drives to go to post/ edit. By joining Digital Orchard, Jeremy hopes to expand his skill-set and gain more experience in the onset monitoring and grading aspects of being a DIT; working directly with cinematographers. In the coming months Jeremy hopes to work alongside Digital Orchard technicians on features and HETV, with a view to master onset monitoring, grading through DaVinci Resolve and onset grading with Live Grade.
